Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

filing on back child support

I want to file on my child's father for

back child support, how do I go about

doing that? Do I need to talk to a

lawyer first or can I go online and file

before contacting a lawyer?

Re: filing on back child support

You always have the right to represent yourself, but there are serious hazards in doing so. There are attorneys who will take their fee from the funds collected, depending upon the status of the ex and the amount involved. Email me directly, and I can refer you.

Re: filing on back child support

As you suggest, it is possible to file online with some courts in TX (if that is where your case is), otherwise these cases are no less complex than suing any other defendant and all the rulles and procedures must be strictly followed. The courts do not give you a break just because you are not a lawyer. I do this kind of work. If you want to speak with me about your case, contact me by email.
