Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Filing Charges

My ex boyfriend was physical with me and a report was made on Memorial weekend. The police man took photos of all my injuries and there was a witness who saw my boyfriend dragging me back up the stairs of my apartment when I tried to get away for help. At the time I was uncertain if I wanted to press charges but chose to do so. After speaking to him I chose to drop the charges but now I regret doing so because my family and friends feel that what he did was wrong and I know it was wrong and feel I acted on pity for him and want to pursue charges. Am I able to change my mind and have it reviewed? Please advise.

Re: Filing Charges

I seriously doubt that the DA would reinstate your complaint since you're not dead or dying. To reinstate the case would subject yourself to that age old question -- were you lying then or are you lying now? I know you weren't lying when you made out the complaint, but next time you will know that the courts and the DA's take these things very seriously and don't want to mess around with cases that they could lose. Get away from the guy and find somebody who treats your better. Good Luck.
