Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Filing for Divorce

I would like to know if I got married in the state of Louisiana, but have separated from my husband, and I now live in the state of Texas, which state do I file for a divorce? Husband resides in Louisiana--we have been separated for several years.

Re: Filing for Divorce

Where you marry is irrelevant.

You must file for divorce in the county you live in or the parish he lives in.
