Filing for divorce myself
Three years ago, I had a petition for divorce.This paper granted me ''temporary'' custody of my 3 boys. My spouse has supervised visits through the courts. She has never attempted to visit. Since I already basically have the divorce papers, can't they be filed,on final basis, without going through an attorney. Is there something I can get ex to sign to speed things up.

You can ask the court for a final hearing and provide notice to your ex. If you filed this divorce yourself, you will want to look at your reference materials for the testimony necessary to prove up a divorce and provide the court with a final decree.

You should check and see if the divorce filed 3 years ago is still open. If not, your temporary orders have expired.
If you live in Harris County, you can go downtown to the Harris County Law Library - in same building as the jury assembly room (located on Congress) and read their law books on Texas family law and divorce.
Normally after people have looked at these books, then call an attorney for assistance.
In Harris County, if you have minor children, it is almost impossible to have a Judge sign your Final Decree of Divorce. However, you can always try. The filing fee for a divorce with children in Harris County is approx. $175.
