Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Filing on my own

I have some forms that I downloaded on line. I was retyping them in order to file with the county clerk. Should I retype the forms verbatim, or do I eliminate the parts that do not pertain to me such as children? I just want to make sure there are no issues when I file the paperwork.

Thank you.

Re: Filing on my own

I have several on-line form sets that don't work. So -- Good luck! People sell forms on line that were never designed for use in the State of Texas. If you read the fine print on the kits sold at office supply stores it says -- no state forms are included.

In summary, buyer beware!

If you don't know what you are doing, then you need to hire an attorney to help you.

If you live in Harris County, I sell a Do It Yourself Divorce Kit (that really works) for people with no property (other than vehicles) and no kids & no debts for under $200.

You can call me at 713.847.6000 to discuss.

If you have assets and debts, my kits cost more for the items you need.
