Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

filing procedure - texas, tarrant county

I'm helping a friend with her papers. Her husband filed for divorce in TX she lives in SC with their son, always has. She knows she has to file a motion for dismissal for lack of jurisdiction, but along with it does she need to send an Order stating the same for the judge to sign, or would the court take care of that themselves and all she has to file/send it her motion? (tarrant county) any other advice would be helpful.

First, be careful of being too helpful, as anyone can represent themselves, but practicing law without a license, on behalf of another person, is barratry.

Also, she needs to be certain that she is filing the appropriate motions, in the correct form and time.

She will have to do the research at the law library, or hire a lawyer. The parties prepare and submit proposed orders to the court. The court rarely prepares it's own orders.
