Where do I begin with filing child support?
What is the difference with filing with Attorney General or with a private lawyer?

Re: Filing for support
The big difference is time and money. The services of the Attorney General are free, but like many things that are free, you end up paying for it in time. There is usually a fairly long lead time between when you apply to the AG for services and when they get to you, and even when they do, you are just one more case in today's huge stack of cases. Also the AG represents the State of Texas, not you, so you may not get what is the very best for you and your children.
A private attorney will cost you money but save you time. He or she is your advocate and will do his or her best to get you and your children everything you deserve and are entitled to. If you need anything other than a standard possession order or guideline support you need a private attorney.
