Finances after divorce

Can I get some of my husbands money if I leave him. He is controlling and refuses to let me work and make any money.

Maybe.

You might be entitled to temporary spousal support while the divorce is pending. If you were married at least 10 years, you might be entitled to a period of spousal support after the divorce. Community Property means that you own half of the debts and half of the assets accumulated during a marriage.

Take your records, and consult with an attorney before you announce that you want a divorce.
