Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How Would I Find a Free Po-Bono Lawer ?

I have looked for the past 3 yrs to find someone to help me get a divorce. No one can help in the east tex legal aid because of funds, but they are the only ones that I know that is for low-income families. Do you know anyone else that would help me?

Re: How Would I Find a Free Po-Bono Lawer ?

East Texas is a difficult place to find a pro-bono lawyer. In my county, we have one very hardworking benevolent judge who will help low-income people to obtain a divorce in his court. You might ask the judge in you county. This would be a long shot. Our county bar association also asks lawyers to assist low income families which we do on a pro bono basis. See if your county has a bar association. You can also ask the judge in your county for the location of the county bar association. Sorry for your problem. Some people say there are too many lawyers, but your case is proof that statement is not true. Good Luck.
