Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am trying to find out how I can get the process started to get my four year old's noncustodial parent rights signed over to me and my husband so my husband can adopt her. I don't know if that is possible because we have only been married for 4 months. Is this possible, and how would I get the process started for as cheap as possible?

It won't be cheap.

It's called a "termination and adoption." It's easier if Dad cooperates (signs an affidavit of relinquishment).

A social study is absolutely required (by law).

Start the process by talking to a lawyer, who will want to get lots of information from you, and about a $3000 advance retainer.
