Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

FL child support order in Texas divorce decree - I live in TX with the kids, we were married here, my ex is in Florida now. The Texas OAG had Florida to order the support because that is where my ex is. I went to court today and the judge said that he cannot do anything with the divorce because there is an order pertaining to the kids in Florida. I was pro se. Is there any way for me to avoid moving my divorce to florida? The AG's office says they cannot transfer the child support case to TX.

How long have you lived in Texas? Does the Florida order give you custody? Does it contain a geographic restriction?

You need to show your order to a Texas lawyer.

You need to ask Florida to decline jurisdiction.
