Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
forced into divorce
married in 7/11/04 told to give away all my belongings that he would buy more and we moved into his home. told he wanted a divorce at christmas, i did not. forced to move out of his house into the apartment he rented for me. he bought me a bed and paid rent for 1 month. i make 329.00 week, had to get groceries, electricity, telephone etc. on my own. he packed my belongings and told me i was going to the apt because he was going on vacation in one night. i have nothing because he told me to give it all away when we got married. He has dumped me into this apartment and i need financial assistance to get on my feet. can i refuse to sign the divorce papers or can i demand assistance from him.
married in july we lived in my apt for 3 months while i paid rent before we moved into his house. now he says that i can have nothing of what his even though he told me to give away all of my belongings because he was going to buy more. his reason for wanting a divorce is i do not clean well enough i work too much i do not want to go out and i have changed. i thought everything was ok until he announced he wanted to find me somewhere else to live and he wanted a divorce.
what are my options?
Thank you

Re: forced into divorce
You need to find an attorney immediately!
Everything acquired since marriage is COMMUNITY PROPERTY -- unless a gift or inheritance.
If he gave you any gifts those are your separate property.
You desperately need legal assistance.
If you sign a WAIVER OF SERVICE, he can put ANYTHING in the divorce decree and you will have no control.
I urge you not to sign anything until you talk to a lawyer.
