Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Foster care rules

I have inlaws that act as foster parents for an infant in Texas. They are coming to visit my wife and I in North Carolina next month, but said they said they need our Social Security numbers to give to a judge in order to travel out of state with their foster child. Is this legit? I have a hard time giving out my Social Security number for something that has really nothing to do with me. Thank you.

Re: Foster care rules

I haven't heard of anything like this. Ask them for something in writing from the Court showing this is a requirement.
