Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

need help

Hi:

Last friday I was given by the court my final decree for my divorce. It was uncontested and there where no children born from our marriage. In the decree states that my husband agreed to keep the house , there for make payments and all responsabilityes todo with the house. In the decree ,states he is the person taking over the property and I need to sing all the the documents to give the rigths on the house. My problem is my mortgage company dont care about this decree , unless I refianace or sale the house my name will not be taken of the loan. He is a very irresponsible person and im sure in few months, he will let the house go for forclosure , and my credit will be ruin.He doesnt want to refinance because he has to pay 6000 dollars for this , is there any legal action I can take to force him to refinance the house , or any other way to get my name off the loan so I wont be responsible if he defaults in the house payment .Thanks

Did you handle this pro-se, without a lawyer? Every one of your concerns are issues that should have been addressed BEFORE the decree was signed by the court. You have 30 days to file an appeal -- although if you agreed to this decree, it may be pointless to appeal. Go see a lawyer today -- this is a common error of not seeking counsel first. At the very least, you should retain a lien on the property.
