my best friend who is 18 and I are trying to get an apartment but i am only 17 and they said that i have to be emancipated so how do i go about doing that?

You would file a lawsuit under provisions Chapter 31 of the Texas Family Code.

I assume that you are self-supporting, and that you live apart from your parents.
