Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My friend is trying to get a divorce from his wife but is having issues because of a child that he had out of wedlock while he was deployed to Iraq. The child is almost 4 years old, thus making the child my friends responsibilty by Texas law. The father of the child refuses to claim responsibility. My friend wants to finalize the divorce without having to pay child support for a child that is not his. How can this issue be resolved?

It's hard to figure out the situation the way you described it.

Who is the father of the child?

Who is the mother of the child?

Who is your friend's lawyer?
