Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Gain Custody then emansipate.
My friend was wanting to know if she gained custody of a 17 yrld boy if she could then emancipate him afterward. That is what he wants but his parents are working against that and trying to send him away instead.

Your friend needs to talk to a good family law attorney. Getting custody of a child when you are not the parent is difficult and expensive unless the parents agree and no Court would grant it if it knew she did not intend to care for and support the boy afterwords.

I'm sure that you are trying to do some good but I agree with PAT BUSHMAN. You need to talk to an attorney. I charge $100 for an hour of my time.
