Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I am gay and in a relationship that is failing. My credit isnt the greatest but I have been making payments towards the revolving accts I have for a yr now. My spouse got a car in her name but for me and I have been making the monthly payments out of my checking acct for a yr as well as taking care of the maintaince and holding the insurance for the vechile. She is threating me to take the car away if we spilt and that I would have to pay her parents for her 2002 cavailer that has 140000 miles on it. If i came into the relationship with a car and got rid of it because she was helping with get a better car that was more reliable, and I have spent over 6000 on this new car with payments, insurance, and maintaince what is my chance on having to make her sign over her 2002 car thats only worth 1500 max if she wants the new car?

Wow! This happens all the time - gay or not!
The person who has the car in their name owns the car. Period. They can do whatever they want with it.
If you want to talk, I charge $2 per minute to talk. I'm a mediator and I'm willing to try to help you.
I've helped other gay and/or unmarried couples try to resolve their issues without going to court.
However, both parties must be willing to try to work together to end the relationship without bloodshed. Talk to her and see if she is interested.
You loved each other at one time. Why not try to end your relationship in a loving and compassionate way?
