Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I got a girl he barely knew pregnant. That is what she told me. I went to adoption counseling with her, because we decided that would be the best thing. Ifound out 2 months after she had the child she had changed he mind. I found this out early one morning when she announce I had to be in court in 40 minutes to sign papers, and child support arrangments. I was so caught off guard, I got dressed, and signed what they told me. Appartently he signed an "acceptance of parenthood". I didn't know I had 60 days to null and void that. This girl thinks she is in love with me, though she barely knows me. She had been dishonest with me from the start (said she was on birth control, etc). I know it is still my responsibilty. I was under diress when I signed that. I have very serious dobts about being the father. She is refusing to let me have a DNA test done. I am working part time at a Pizza place, and earn a small fraction of what I am expected to pay. Do I have any recourse. I want to know for sure that this is my child. If so, I will do the best I can for him. Since I don't have much money, I would opt for caring for him half of the time, or more.
Thank you

You say that you "signed what they told me." What did you sign? When?
If you were in the AG's court in front of a IV-D Master, you may be able to file a quick appeal - but you have only 7 days.
My advice: from now on, ALWAYS refuse to "sign what they told me." Learn to say "No."
Run to an attorney's office..like today. I agree with Mark Dunn.
If you say you cannot afford it...you are STUCK paying for the next 18 year or more...if the kid is disabled...for the rest of your life.
TAKE THE PAPERS TO A FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY!
Taking care of the kid 1/2 of the time does not mean you don't pay child support...sorry!
