My girlfriend has been going through a divorce for the past 14 months she and I are very serious about one another but hr soon to be ex husband wants to keep me out of the house on overnight visits the child in this case is 13 yrs old and we have a great relationship what is texaslaw pre and post divorce?

You don't state where you live in Texas. I only practice law in Harris County.

1. She can agree to the restriction in the FINAL DECREE OF DIVORCE. I suggest that this be a mutual restriction.

2. Many judges don't like "friends" spending the night. Some judges believe that it encourages teen-agers to be sexually active.

3. If you marry her, then you are a "relative" and you can spend the night.
