Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Girls still not visiting Dad
I have asked this question before . It is now months later . Girls still not wanting to visit with Dad . Dad has told me to ''butt out'' . That I am doing more harm than good . Trying to get the girls to go and visit him . I now have both girls in counseling . To help resolve this issue . What else can I do ? The counselor said not to push . Give them time . But legally , like someone said before . I could go to jail .
I have Dad , and counselor saying to back off .
I want the girls to go see Dad . That is why I'm paying a good fee for them for counseling . 17 y/o will be 18 here soon , and 14 y/o will be 15 soon . Any advice ?
Dad does NOT make any efforts outside of holidays to call , write or visit . He does email , but gets no response back from either of the girls .

Re: Girls still not visiting Dad
The moment a child turns 18, the child no longer has to visit.
If Dad does NOT want to visit, you cannot make him visit.
I believe that the attorneys that answered your question before thought that Dad wanted to see the children.
If Dad does not want to see the children and does not make any effort to do so, then he will NOT file a contempt action against you and you cannot be held in contempt of court (and be ordered to jail.)
The only person that can file a contempt action against you is the children's father. In this email, it sounds like he does not want to see the children.
The advice you received previously, shows the probelm with emails.
If you have any questions, then sit down with an attorney face-to-face for advice.
