Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can you give away your Parrental Rights , and if you can what do you need to file?? Girl PG and father doesn't want anything to do with baby. So he says he will give up rights to baby. Can we file without Lawyer. Is there a form?? Thank you.

You can relinquish your rights, but it is not always easy. The court may want someone else to adopt the child at the same time so that there is always a responsible parent. There is no simple form; you need an attorney. The documents need to be done exactly right and there are some important time periods. You do not want to find out later that this did not work.

I have done terminations without adoptions before, but your attorney can discuss your circumstances with you. You should not try to do this without an attorney.
