Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My granddaughter's parents have joint visitation as in my daughter has her every other week. She starts school this fall, and her dad wants to continue,h for her to live with him, every other week. What, if any law is there, that states she is to reside with her mother the whole week during school year?

That's not going to be a matter of "law", it's going to be a matter of whatever the custody order terms are. There can be various different arrangements for that, but since they've got the week on, week off set up now, I think it's a pretty safe bet they did that by agreement (that's not the standard order and not something a judge would force on parents who did not want that). Because of that, no one here can tell you what the terms of that order say. It may have a provision that this arrangement is to stop once she starts school, or it may just have the week on, week off language, with nothing else specified. Your daughter will have to look at the order to determine that. If there's a problem, she may be able to go back to court to request a modification, but she'll need to consult an attorney about the specifics of whether that will work.
