Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Our Granddaughter's visitation with her father is about to move into Phase 2 (of 3). Before that happens, are we allowed to ask to see a valid driver's license and insurance card(he didn't have one(DL)a few years ago)? Also, we don't have his current address, can we ask for proof;say,a current bill, that he actually lives there? He is not paying child support & will be taking her for 8 hrs each weekend in a city 2 hrs away.

Read your court order.

It probably requires him to keep you informed of his current mailing address and home phone number. It probably does NOT give you the right to demand to see his driver's license and insurance card. And it doesn't give you the right to demand that he "prove" where he lives.

You say he's not paying child support. Was he ordered to do so? It makes a difference.
