Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Grandfather a possible pedophile and wanting rights

I have a 2 year old daughter, my ex-husband, her father was arrested in July for multiple accounts of sexual child abuse and is in jail. His father, my child's grandfather, was accused several years of sexually abusing a neice, but charges were dropped. I have kept my daughter away from her grandparents. We have been thru so much pain. I just want them out of our lives. They are threatening to take me to court for grandparent rights. Do they stand a chance? They are paying for their son's legal defense and have tried to get him out on bond to come and live with them. He has confessed to many of the crimes and CPS has already ruled that he can not be around children. I refuse to take any chances with my daughter's safety. I don't want either of them around her, they are defending him when he abused my son and other children. And, now want my daughter to come visit them in their home.

Do I have reason to worry that a judge would force me to let her go see them? Do they stand a chance?

Of COURSE you stand a chance. But if you truly intend to protect your daughter, get a lawyer. A missed deadline, or a missed properly filed pleading could derail your claims. Get a lawyer.
