Could a grandparent be granted legal guardianship of 17 yr old. Would I get child support from both parents who dont want her. Do I have to get a lawyer?

Yes a grandparent could be granted custody. Do the parents agree? If not, then it would be difficult. I assume that the parents don't want to pay child support so they might not agree. Yes, you should have an attorney.

If the parents agree, then you do not have to go to court. the legislature passed new law that just took effect last you that allows a parent to assign those rights over without going through an expensive court proceeding.

Also, please note that the correct term is conservatorship; a guardianship is something else entirely.
