Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Grandparent rights

My son is in state jail in TDCJ for 2 years just got served divorce papers stating wife sole conservator does this mean he gives up his right? They lived with us over 6 months within the last 2 years. Can we fill for joint managing conservator on his behalf. The divorce is not final yet.

Re: Grandparent rights

I strongly urge you to retain your own legal counsel.

With your son in jail, as grandparents you have some legal rights to see the kids.

Unfortunately, if the children lived with you 2 years ago, you've waited to long to ask for custody.

Find a family law attorney. It is not complicated but you need someone that knows what they are doing.

You might try Patricia Bushman on this website. She goes outside Harris County. I can't tell from you zip code which county the case is located in. Please tell Pat that FRAN sent you!
