Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Grandparent visitation/rights

I have a 4 year old grandchild that I am not able to see much. She lived with me for her first 2 years and for the last 2 years has lived with her father. My daughter has an illness and due to her illness primary residence was granted to the childs father. I am not able to see this child very much now, and don't see her for any holidays anymore, although she lives only a few miles from me. I am thinking of going to court to apply for grandparents visitation so that I am able to spend more time with her and will then be able to make plans to do things with her, as the visits I get are sporadic and short. This child means very much to me and sees her other grandparents almost daily, and my daughter gets visitation. But between preschool and everyone else getting visitation, there seems to be no time for this grandparent. I am also interested in getting a price range if possible, as I will have to save money to do this.

Re: Grandparent visitation/rights

You do have rights that can be ordered by the court. I charge $500 to represent people in Tarrant county. You will also need to pay costs that may have changed since Jan. 1. The mother and father must also be served with citation, or they may choose to waive citation. The cost of service is usually 50 to 60 per person. If you live in the Dallas Fort Worth area you can call me at 817 261-2671.
