Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
How old would my grandson have to be to be trustee of my estate (he is 17)
1 Answer from Attorneys
He would have to be an adult - 18.
I assume that you do not want him to be a trustee.
I assume that you would want him to inherit your estate or be independent executor of your estate.
I highly recommend that you talk to an estate planning attorney about what you are trying to do.
Most of the internet wills are not appropriate for the State of Texas. They say that they are but if they do not include very specific language then your probate of your estate when you die will be a nightmare for your heirs. So please, please, please do not try to do this yourself -- please hire an attorney to help you.
Look on this website or on www.avvo.com for help.
You can call Attorney Patricia Bushman at 713-807-9405 for help. I office in her office. She is a great attorney in the Houston area and her prices are very reasonable. We office by Reliant Stadium - Loop 610 & Kirby.
Plus I hope that you do some other important documents - who will make decisions if you are in an accident and other stuff like that.
Happy Thanksgiving!
