Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Granparent's rights// custody

I will try to make a long story short. My ex is now in prison and in June 08 the courts terminated his parental rights. My ex mother in law hired an attorney and they have filed a motion for a new trial. This is in Dallas county. From my understanding she is trying to get custody of my children. My question is what is the likelihood of that happening? And can she be granted visitation with my children? I have never been in trouble, jail, etc. I provide for and care for both of my children. Thank you in advance for your expertise.

Re: Granparent's rights// custody

You really need an attorney!!! There are too many variables, like why your ex's rights were terminated, who terminated them, and if the children had been living with the grandmother to do anything other than say - find yourself a good family law attorney.
