Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Guardianship

I am a grandparent tring to get legal guardianship of my grandson so I can add him to my insurance. He has been living with me for over a year but the insurance company will not let me add him unless I am his legal guardian.

Re: Guardianship

Guardianships are done through the probate courts / conservatorships are done through the family courts. In all probability you are going to have to seek conservatorship of your grandson through the family courts. You should find a good family law attorney in your area and sit down and discuss the details of your situation.

Pat is right! Go for custody and NOT guardianship. It's much easier...and cheaper.
