Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Guardianship - Injunctions

Situation is this: 10 year old traveling with a professional broadway tour. Mother has hired a full time chaperone/adult guardian, as recommended by the Tour management. Father, who has limited visitation, has gone to every city and refused to allow the daughter to stay with the chaperone and has been verbally and nearly physically abusive to the chaperone. Mother works full time, father is in extreme debt but seems to be in a manic phase and is following the tour everywhere. He has anger management problems that lead to limited visitation. THis is documented. Question: Is there anything that can be done by mother to keep him away and let the chaperone to her job? Second quesiton, he is threatening an injunction against the chaperone. What does this mean?

Re: Guardianship - Injunctions

Taking your description at face value, this is a situation that is or nearly is at crisis stage. I don't know why you have not hired a lawyer, but I suggest you do so today.

Your daughter's well-being is at risk if she is being stalked (?) by her father. The chaperone may well have some legal claim against you if she is hurt and you knew the risk, and took no action. Additionally, if he can convince a judge that he is not a nut, but a concerned father, he may get conservatorship superior to yours. Another issue, although minor, is that the company may decide that the family problems are not worth the risk, and she loses her 'job'. Regardless of the details, the general scenario you have provided indicates that you need a lawyer IMMEDIATELY.
