Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

guardianship

My son is a 28 yoa adult but he has Bipolar Disorder and gets into situations where he panics. Alot of times he does not respond normally to what would be considered to routine challenges with friends or acquaintences and things get out of control for him. Is it possible for me to be his guardian or something in that capacity due to his mental condition? It would make it officially easier to help him with some situations. Getting him to handle legal and or other situations takes a long time and is ultimately not effectife.

Re: guardianship

You will need his consent for the guardianship. Although his condition is unhandy for you, the court must decide whether he incapable of handling his affairs.
