Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Home Parent rights

I live in TX and my husband wants to be listed as the home parent. Our son will live with me but he wants to ensure I will not leave the area with him. We will share joint custody and I believe that will change the whole situation. I have not agreed to it but needed some more information on this matter.

Re: Home Parent rights

Doesn't really sound like you or your husband really understands what the various terms mean. You should really talk with a good family law attorney.

FYI - joint custody really has nothing to do with where the child lives - it has to do with the rights and duties of each parent. A geographic restriction controls whether the child can be moved outside a particular area.
