house in my name, not staying there

I co. signed a mortage on a house because a friend needed better credit to get house. Its been 3 yrs. since but she been behind on payments, house almost going to foreclosure and affecting my credit. I call her but she dont answer my phone calls. How can I get my name off the house as soon as possible?

Sorry, you can't get off the mortgage - neither sooner nor later. If your "friend" does not pay, you are required by your signature on the mortgage to pay. If the mortgage is foreclosed, there will likely be a judgment against you. You could sue your "friend" to take her off the mortgage. Then maybe you could sell the property or perhaps tender it to the mortgage company. Sounds like you need a lawyer or your credit is going to be ruined for the rest of your life - thanks to your "friend". Good Luck.
