Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My second husband adopted my son at the age of three. We were married for two years and he left for another woman. His dad has nothing to do with him because his wife-the other woman-does not accept him. My son is now 14 years old and wants to take back his birth name. Can we do this and what is involved?

A name change of a minor would require notifying his father. If he objects I don't know if the judge would change it.

I would contact an attorney in your county. A local attorney would know how the judge feels about name changes.
