Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My husband hasnt seen his daughter in 7 years. The childs mother moved his daughter out of state to Colorado and refuses to come back. When he was placed on child support, a visitation paper was drawn up that gave him certain days to see his daughter. Hes been fighting to see his daughter ever since. What can he do to see his daughter and make her honor the visitation papers. They werent married but visiting days were established in the court. We dont have the money to hire an attorney. What legal rights as a father does he have? She must be breaking some sort of court law so to speak to not honor the visitation papers and move his daughter out of state. Ive offered to pay for round trip ticket so he can see his daughter but the mom said no. I just dont know what to do at this point. Any advice or number to call would be great. I wish I could find an attorney in the Houston area that would be willing to handle a pro bono case to reunite a father and daughter.

Does the most recent court order have a geographic restriction - something to the effect of "The Respondent has the exclusive right to establish the child's domicile in Harris County or a contiguous county"?
If not, you have a problem.
Consider calling the local law enforcement folks (local to Mom) - tell them that you plan to come up there with a certified copy of the visitation order, and ask them if they will accompany your husband to the door when he goes to pick up the child (at one of the designated times in the order, of course).
If you like, you can file a motion for contempt against Mom in Harris County (I assume that's where the order came from), but that's not going to be very effective.
