Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband and I are getting a divorce and are dealing with things ourselves to keep costs low so we end up with more money each in the end...however, the paperwork we have does not say anything about how the actual money is divided. Do we need to make a paper and sign it to say how we are dividing it? He has offered for the kids and I to take 75%. I just want to make sure it is legal and true. Please help!

You obviously re not using lawyers! Sometimes you get what you pay for. It sounds like you purchased on on-line DIY kit. Beware! If it was from CA, CO, WA, FL or NY the ones I've seen do not conform to TX law.

If you don't do the paperwork properly the judge might not sign it! Also, depending on the court, some courts REQUIRE a 4 hour parenting class to be done before they will sign the Order.

I sell TX DIY kits for people that just need the paperwork done. I include the required TX form, Harris County form, Child Support Information form as well as the Order.

Kits with kids start at $600 and can run more depending on how much paperwork I need to do. If you don't have anything but vehicles, then it's $600 for a one time meeting. I do the paperwork while you wait.
