Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband filed for divorce then left the state! What are my options?

He filed in Oct. I was served in Nov. He left the state in Dec. Not to be found anywhere. His attorney cannot find him. He has given up the search.

I have to file either a counter claim or a cross plea. Is there a place on the internet where I can get information on what needs to be included in these filings? I have an idea of what I want to say but do not have the format for the proper legal proceeding for the state of Texas.

I was told that I cannot continue this divorce because I did not file for the divorce. The case will be dropped.

I want to protect myself from any legal entanglements that he may have gotten into since he left me. How do I do this?

Thanks......

Call our office we can help 281-485-0990. I do not know of a place where you can get a prepared counter-motion. We will gladly prepare one for you, or represent you if you are in the Houston area.
