Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband filled for a divorce three weeks ago, and he just told me that he has removed me from the medical insurance, is that legal for him to do, and is there anyway I can make him keep me on the insurance.

Check to see if your jurisdiction has any "standing orders." Some counties have standing orders which don't allow the changing of insurance designations.

He's a fool for doing this; as long as you're married to him (and you're married to him until the Judge bangs the wooden hammer at the final hearing), your husband is personally liable for your medical bills, whether he likes it or not (it's not just a good idea, it's the law). Unfortunately, YOU'RE liable for them too.

File a counterpetition and ask for temporary orders, including a temporary order that requires Dad to keep you covered on medical insurance.
