Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband fled almost a week ago with my soon-to-be 4 year old daughter. I do not know his and my daughter's location at this time. To my knowledge, he has not hired an attorney yet. I have filed for divorce and for a temporary restraining order. I have a temporary custody hearing in two weeks, but I don't believe that he will show up; in fact, I think he has skipped town altogether. If I am awarded custody at the hearing, can the police intervene to find my husband and daughter's whereabouts so that I can get her back?

Unless he's served with process (citation), the Court can't award you custody.

You may have to get him served by publication.
