Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband left me

My husband left me, this makes twice, and will not consent to work it out. Although he claims he doesn't want a divorce and as of now is continuing to pay the bills, I feel I need to know what my rights are. I have asked him to come home, but he won't. What should I do?

Family law, divorce, adoption and custody. It seems you have several issues in mind. He should pay child support for his children. He might or might not be ordered to pay spousal support depending upon the circumstances and what he is paying for bills at the moment may or may not be fair. If he wants to leave, he will leave. If you have substantial assets, you might want to protect them. You can look under family law at my web site to help you calculate a rough number for child support and to see general information.

Re: My husband left me

I am certian you want someone to tell you what to do. Life does not work that way. I will tell you what you should not do. If you have young children - do not take them away where he cannot locate them. Call an attorney in your area who specializes in family law and one that you feel is comunicative. Start making a list of the assets you and your husband have. You can do about anything you want as long as it does not harm anyone else. File for divorce if you like, or make more requests to your husband to go for counseling. Good Luck.
