Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband had a modification for child support done a year ago and agreed on a payment on the arrears, child support, and health insurance. The new payment is $762/month. We fell behind 4 months. A warrant was issued and he turned himself in. The AG's office said it would be $15,000 for jail release. We were only 4 months behind totaling $3048. Can they charge my husband $15,000 on after a modification when we were only 4 months behind?

$15,000 must be for the entire arrearage. Yes, they can do that. He should ask for Work Release pending posting bond.
