Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband is going through a process of his son's mother not allowing him to see the child. So he recently filed papers to take her to court last week. She hired a lawyer and filed a protective order against him the day before court. The court date was order to be continue to the following week. The next date after court the lawyer called him to come to agreement of six months supervise visitation. Being that this has been going on for awhile he decided to call and just drop everything. During the process of calling the girl's lawyer she told him that its not a good idea for him not to sign the agreement because if his child's mother continues with the protective order it can go on his record. Is this true?

A family violence protective order requires a finding of family violence. If there hasn't been any family violence (that is, if Dad didn't commit any), why would you want to settle? Call their bluff.
