Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Ex Husband Ruining My Credit

My husband and I divorced in 1999. The divorce decree stated that our house be sold to pay off credit card bills. I moved out and my ex is still living there. He never tried to sell it. At this point, I don't care what he does with it, because I have remarried and have a whole new life. I took care of the credit card bills , myself. I would like to know how to get my name off the title, because it is ruining my credit. He has been late on the payments several times and it is listed on my credit report.

Re: Ex Husband Ruining My Credit

If the decree says the house is to be sold, file a motion for enforcement and for contempt requesting that the house be listed for sale. If this issue is important to you, hire a lawyer to get this job done.
