Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My husband and I have been separated for three years. We have been married for 18 years.Recently,he has provided for the majority of my financial needs, although I have had an income for the majority of our marriage. I have sent him a petition for divorce twice, neither of which he signed. We have no children, but we do have joint responsibilites existing. He says he will not contest a divorce, but has also said he will not participate. Can I draw up a reasonable divorce agreement and expect it to hold up in court without his signature?

You should try contacting a couple of local lawyers to see if you can afford to hire one. It would be very difficult for you to handle on your own if there is property involved and you need to address retirement funds, etc. He does not need to sign - but he does need to be served.
