Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My husband served divorce petition last week. He closed our joint banking account and I have to depend on him to transfer money to me for bills and groceries.
(1) Is he required to provide spousal support until I can get a job?
(2) Is he required to provide medical insurance until I can get a job?
After filing for divorce, he said he was paying for the divorce. If we have an uncontested divorce, it will cost him less. But the following paragraph sounds like Im having to pay for it. What does this paragraph from the Original Petition For Divorce mean?
Attorneys Fees, Expenses, Costs, and Interests
It was necessary for Petitioner to secure the services of ______, a licensed attorney, to prepare and prosecute this suit. To effect an equitable division of the estate of the parties and as a part of the division, judgment for attorneys fees, expenses, and costs through trial and appeal should be granted against Respondent and in favor of Petitioner for the use and benefit of Petitioners attorney; or, in the alternative, Petitioner requests that reasonable attorneys fees, expenses, and costs through trial and appeal be taxed as costs and be ordered paid directly to Petitioners attorney, who may enforce the order in the attorneys own name. Petitioner requests post-judgment interest as allowed by law.
Thanks for your assistance.
