Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
my husband went to sit out some traffic tickets in a county 5 hours away from where we live in, while there he was advised he had a warrant for child support from april 2013. The county jail he is in is advising that they have to hold him for 10 business days until the police officers from our county go pick him up. How long can they continue to detain him once those 10 days pass and they do not show up to get him?

It's up to the person running the jail. I've seen them hold people quite awhile. In the meantime, he needs to either hire a family law attorney to represent him in court or to ask the judge to declare him indigent and appoint him a free attorney.
If he has a warrant for past due child support, he can be looking at 6 months of jail time and possible a monetary fine.

In Bexar County, after ten days they release folks held on out of county warrants if they are not picked up.. My guess is most counties do not like feeding prisoners for other counties.
