Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If a husband and wife are going through a divorce and the husband sold his first house and they purchased a home in both of their names, can the wife\'s attorney tell her that she has to buy out the husband if he stays in the home. They have been married for 6 years.\n\n2. Initially the wife\'s attorney appeared to be supportive however now that money has exchanged hands he is no longer concerned and does not appear to be giving wise legal counsel. The question is .....how can the wife go about changing legal counsel.

She can visit with other attorneys until she finds one she wants to take over her representation and then ask that the new attorney substitute in as her attorney of record. Changing attorneys does not relieve her of paying the previous attorney for work he has already done. Just because her current attorney doesn\'t agree with her does not necessarily mean the advice isn\'t valid.
