Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
my husbands child support ends in august and his ex is threatening to go to his job and try and have him fired the moment his support for her ends. she is very vindictive and has had our electricity turned off and just crazy things. they have been divorced for 8 years and i have only known him for 2 yrs and we are newly married. She makes our lives hell. what recourse does my husband have to make her stop this? he works for a very prestigious company and while he would not get fired, her actions would be embarrassing.

Unfortunately, this happens often. I tell guys to go to his Human Resources or his boss & discuss this matter in advance & warn them. You can stop "crazy", but you can prepare his employer that allegations might be made. If they know about it in advance & then she makes the call, they will be prepared. I've saved a couple of guy's jobs by having they do it in advance -- again he needs to approach them calmly & just prepare them.
I assume that he has carefully documented all of these things. He needs to keep a file for the next 10 years. If the situation continues, he might want to retain legal counsel and/or go to his local district attorney's office. Due to this problem occurring, rarely (but sometimes) there can be a restraining issue (or protective order) issued against her.
I've even seen "terroristic threat" charge & the person was eventually arrested by the police in one really bad case -- there were thousands of text messages & a police officer got so fed up that a man's bad behavior after repeated police intervention & warnings. Eventually the police & the DA's office intervened & got this guy off the street -- but this is extremely rare -- I think the guy really "pissed" off a cop. The woman was able to document the man's behavior over a long period of time (I think 2 years & it was severe).
